1935 – 2017 • Airman First Class, US Air Force

Jerry enlisted with the USAF in 1952 at the age of 17. He proudly served as Chief Gunner, Airman 2nd class during the Korean War where he received the National Defense Service Medal and was recommended for promotion to Airman 1st Class. He continued his service in the Air Force Reserve until 1960.

Born in Pontiac, Michigan, Jerry was raised by his grandparents on a small farm raising chickens. His early years shaped him in a way that gave him a reputation of always being there for friends in the hardest of times, and he would offer his last dime and the shirt off his back when they were in need.

Jerry didn’t just go through life, he lived it. He didn’t just listen to music, he danced to it. He understood that life was about how we treated each other and how we loved those closest to us. Through his commitment and service to others he truly lived a rich life that no paycheck could ever define. He lived a life worth living.
